The following WIKI was created to explore some of the various instructional strategies. Instructional strategies are methods used to expand students' knowledge about any lesson/s given in, as well as, outside the classroom environment. Listed below, is a brief overview of each individual instructional strategy that will be explained in detail throughout this collaborative instructional Wiki.
Homework and Practice: provide teachers opportunities to extend learning outside the classroom and to serve as an additional learning aide to promote learning of students on lessons that have been recently introduced.
Providing feedback: stems from the idea of constructive criticism where teachers, will not only provide a letter grade to rate the end product of one's work, rather, supply instructive comments to further direct the students in a manner that will increase their understanding.
Setting Objectives: or setting long term learning goals; it is an effective strategy that helps teachers, parents and students improve a child’s chances of succeeding significantly.
Summarizing and Note-taking: a practical strategy that facilitates students in increasing their level of comprehension by having them note the significant details of any material, analyzing them, and later making their own annotation in order to retain information.
